It's taken a while to recover from the rollercoaster that was the Reykjavík International Film Festival Talent Lab two weeks ago, but here's a little update.
The best part will need to be the cohort - a mix of incredibly interesting and powerfully creative people from all over the world -including the organisers. There was a true community sense that felt both safe and exciting.
But there was also a lot of work to be done. A schedule packed with masterclasses back to back, trying to squeeze the time to eat meals in the most expensive country in Europe, some scattered sleep and a feature film pitch! Mother Nature was well received by the panel and friends and there's just no better feeling than that. Unless you try the Icelandic thermal baths, because they're really really good.
7 to 10 also took home the Golden Egg Special Mention Award and the jury shared some wonderful words: The jury wishes to give the short film 7 to 10 a special mention, as the competition between these films was very close. 7 to 10 is original, bold, and visually striking, well executed, and professional in every way.
Feeling loved in every possible way and super inspired to keep going.
Thank you, RIFF 2025!
